8-26-06 Restless

Services
God is doing some great stuff at HBC, and just watching him do it makes me realize just how little we really know about him. This week, we had 73, and that included at least 8 first time guests. Unfortunately, one of the families that visited did not fill out a communication card and left before we had a chance to meet them. We're praying that they will find the church they're called to be a part of.

Music
I (Pastor Erik) did the music to give the worship team a break. I don't know how the rest of us felt, but I just enjoyed pouring out my heart and using the guitar as my altar.

Missions
Sunday night, we welcomed Steve and Becky Diem. Their missionaries to Argentina. They're a young family with a passion for their field. We're looking forward to seeing what God is going to do through them.

Sermon
We looked at the end of 2 Chronicles where the Chronicler writes that Judah went into captivity in Babylon so the land could have its Sabbaths. The reason for the Sabbath years was so people could sit back, without working, and see what God had given them. It is a shame that we as people fail to do that because we miss out on something amazing God is doing!
