8-20-06 Summer Is Almost Over

This Sunday, we had 62 in the morning service and almost made budget! More importantly, we had our monthly afternoon BBQ and fellowship time. Even though it was overcast and it had been raining all morning, about twenty of us got together at Max Lindstrom’s house in Chester and had a sweet time together. Rod cooked and everyone pitched in with a little something, then Max led us in worship and we shared a little about being church.

All in all, the afternoon services are by far the best services we have simply because everyone gets a chance to “be normal” instead of doing the typical Sunday morning thing. Next month, I think we’re going to have a shared meal in the evening instead. That should be interesting.

We continue to run very tight financially. We have a deficit around $5,500, which we’re hoping to make up in the Harvest Offering on October 1.
